Looking back

I am excited about a new year coming up! Ready to move on ahead into what God has for us. 2012 was an amazing year! God worked in our lives and this year we finally began our adoption journey! Hoping that sometime in 2013 we will have a new member of our family! God has been good to us this year, and has given us so many blessings. I want to say thank you to those who are still following our blog. And thanks for all the encouragement the blogger community gives while adopting! And homeschooling! Looking forward to another year!

Proverbs 19:21

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

Pinterest love and Christmas excitement

I tried a recipe off of pinterest for dinner last night and loved it!! It was Pan-Seared Chicken with Balsamic Cream Sauce, Mushrooms and Onions. And I'm also in the process of doing a craft in my basement. :) Yay for ideas off the internet!! I thought I would share the recipe with you guys because it was so yummy. the yummy recipe .

Alex has had a flu for the past five days, so we have been hanging around the house...we did also get to go to a Christmas banquet for our church, and have been having more fun with our elf on the shelf Arthur. This year I am also having a big Christmas Eve dinner for my in-laws. We have gotten tired of going to both sets of parents houses on Christmas day and having no time to actually relax and spend time with the kids at home. So this year it was time for a change. Excited to see how it turns out.

Christmas excitement is kicking in!!!!!

Homestudy update, and a Christmas play

Well the agency called back and said that they actually did have the homestudy. And that they are only waiting on a few pieces of paperwork from the social worker. Then they will send it to us to review.

One step closer!!!!

As we wait we are working on school work.....

enjoying the Christmas season. Decorating the house, planning our holiday, and our kids were even in a Christmas play this past Sunday.

Missing homestudy!!! Anyone seen it????

Our homestudy seems to be missing. That's right. Missing.

I called the agency again a few minutes ago and had to leave yet another voice mail since the worker who has access to the homestudies was not in. But the story is this. Our last home visit was in October. The very end of it. So she was going to be working on it during the first week of November. Our social worker was elected as magistrate at this time to, so I figured it may be a little slow coming. Well here it is December and I still have heard nothing. I called her and asked her where it is..she said she already turned it in and that the agency has it. I called them, and they said that No they dont have it, that she still does and that they will call me when they get it....so i have no idea where it is!

This is proof that adoption goes nothing as planned... we can try and make everything go along smooth sailing. But road bumps still happen. And God is in control.

And for now I'm gonna learn how to be a pro at stalking the agency!! :)

Meet Arthur

On December First a guest arrived at our house. :)

Our elf on the shelf! We named him Arthur.

And then the fun began!

He got into our sugar,

Hung the kids underwear

turned the milk green

made a train through the living room

toilet papered the tree

hung out  in our freezer

was caught reading the elf on the shelf book

hung from our kitchen cabinet

sat on the tree star

and got into the nuts.......

The kids are loving it, and me and hubby are having fun figuring out what to do next. :)
