Planting Clover

The other day while shopping in the Target dollar section, I found these little clover pots.

Of course I grabbed them thinking I could let the kids plant them for a home-school project the week of St Patrick's Day.

Well they didn't last.

The kids found them, and begged all day for me to let them go ahead and plant them.

They won. So today we planted clover.

 Oh my, it was nice!

It made me think of spring!!

 planting flowers,

 touching seeds,

 fingers in dirt...

 I can't wait.

Only 22 days until Spring!!!!!

My Week in Review

MercyFound

Welcome back to my blog! Today I am doing a fun little weekend link up with  mercy found ministries .Sharing this week's  High, Low, and Lesson learned. We would love for you to join!

                                                                 My Week In Review

                                                                        HIGH

This week there are two high's that I can think of right away. Both of them from Wednesday. Number one was getting what should be our last homestudy visit done! It seems like we have been waiting forever and it just feels good to know another step is done.

The second one was my hubby getting a much needed new car. His broke down probably about a month ago now, and it's no fun having one family vehicle. We got a 96 Ford Taurus wagon. And the funny thing is, even though it's probably considered an old person car, we love it. Lots of room for the kids....

                                                                         LOW

My low for the week actually happens later today. I have to take me son to the doctors. Turns out he isn't growing very well. He isn't even on the chart for his height! Neither one of us is looking forward to going, but it will be nice to get started on finding out what's going on. If you could keep in your prayers that would be great! Another low part, is that right around the time of his appointment we are supposed to be getting some snow and ice. Fun, fun.

                                                              Lesson Learned

Ecclesiastes 2:10-11

And all that my eyes desired I did not refuse them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, for my heart was pleased because of all my labor and this was my reward for all my labor. Thus I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had exerted, and behold all was vanity and striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun.

This week I learned for the second time, that my hubby and I have changed in how we look at prospective cars. Before we would look for a pretty color, cool car, leather seats....Now we look for how much room it has for the kids stuff, if it get good gas mileage, and is it a good price?  I think we may be growing up!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

It's done!

Yesterday I woke up not feeling well, but we pressed on. We cleaned the house, went car shopping for my hubby (his car broke down a few weeks ago), and managed to get our last homestudy visit done!! Oh my goodness it's so nice to know it's done. I need to turn in a few more papers  in the next few days and then we are hoping it will be approved quickly! Another check off the list!

This week has also been busy with babysitting, schoolwork, and playing with all of Alex's new science stuff he got for his birthday. Which includes a new microscope. Lots of fun! I love how with homeschooling, you can expand on the subject your child enjoys most. We have done so much science stuff this year, most of which if he was in public school he would have missed out on. Our next goal is to dissect a shark! I'm going to let the hubby lead that one though.

Today is the day!!

Today is the day we get our last home-visit from the social worker. After that she will just need to sign it, and put an end to what was probably the longest home-study known to mankind.  Last night I woke up with a touch of the flu. Throwing up, stomach ache, the works, but thank God I am feeling a little better. I am not planning on cancelling this visit unless I absolutely have to!

There's also more good news! I finally got a new laptop! That means I can  hopefully get this blog having posts more often. There has been some major slacking on it lately. I want to start participating in some weekly link-ups, and have regular weekly posts on homeschooling, and adoption. So we will see where it goes...

Well I need to get cleaning! Hope you have a great day!!!

Rescheduled

I know I have been bad about posting this week. But my laptop is down. And blogging from my phone is kind of a pain....

But wanted to give you guys a quick update. Today was supossed to be the long awaited, last homevisit. But our social worker emailed me a few days ago, and it was cancelled. I was nervous it may take awhile to get it rescheduled. But, it's done! Yay! The homevisit will now be Wednesday the 20th. And hopefully (pray hard) not long after, we will be homestudy ready. Something we have dreamed about since last April when we first signed on with the agency.

Also I'm hoping to post in the next few days, a post linking up with Compassion International. So keep checking back!

Valentines fun and adoption news

Valentines day is my boys birthday. That's right seven years ago my valentines day was spent in the hospital, in labor, and I had hospital gag me food for valentines day dinner. But it was worth it.

This morning before we started our schoolwork, the kids started filling out their valentines to hand out to all their church buddies. They had so much fun. I just love this time of year. All the pink and red, the hearts, and of course the romantic gifts from my hubby!  This year we are also going to go to a romantic valentines day dinner at our church. So excited! And I hope my husband wins the most romantic man award. :) What are your valentines day plans? I would love to hear them!

Not the best quality photo's I know. They were taken on my phone.

On to the adoption update. In case you missed it, I recently got an email saying we needed to set up one more home-study visit so they could update us, and the new social worker could meet us. But I have had a heard time getting through to the new social worker to set up the visit. Well yesterday I finally got through. Looks like next friday will be our last visit, she said she will then sign the home-study and then we will be.....

 Officially home-study ready! Woohoo!!!

I am so ready to be able to say that

Soon to be seven

Our little boy will soon be seven years old! It's crazy how fast time goes by. Today we went birthday shopping with Grandma. We met at Toys R Us' where he got to look around at all the toys and pick out a few things. Then grandma took us to Olive Garden.  Since it's not yet the day of his birthday party grandma loaded all the presents in her car.  All the way home he kept saying I can't wait for my party!! Now we are home and it's time for housework. Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Sickness

That's what's going on at our house. We have some major headcolds, and chest colds going around. Looks like today is going to start with taking my little boy to the doctor. Ever since he was little he seems to catch pneumonia very easily. So off to the doc we go. Sorry about the lack of interesting posts lately. My laptop crashed and I have just been doing a few quick and easy posts via my cell phone. Hopefully this week coming I wil get some new pics up! We'll that's all for now. Hope you have a great weekend!
