Fun at home

We have so much fun at home. Today it is cold outside we got up and did our school work.

We played Meatball madness. Its this adorable game where u have to make a meatball "float" through hoops

Then we had a popcicle before lunch :) so we could make a little project with the sticks

Little Miss is now at the age where she has to do everything herself...

After lunch we practiced our memory verse..
Then we made a Mustache on a stick for the kids :) All I had was construction paper..I'm sure they would have been much sturdier with felt..but they still had a lot of fun.

Now the kids are playing and I have to do laundry...But of course I had to update my blog first!!
I am so thankful for the gift God has blessed me with. To be able to stay home with my children..

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old; he shall not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

It makes me mad.

It makes me mad that our country is so caught up in what does not matter..More then that Christ's church here is caught up in it too.
We act like if our internet gets shut off. Or we can't afford to have cable TV, that we are so poor. That God has not blessed us. Yet we have a roof, we have food, we have running water!! We have clothes. That's something else that America has mixed up. Here our clothes have to be name brand. And be brand new each season. While other country's don't even care if they match as long as they have some. I don't want to get caught up in it. I want to desire the things of God. I want to use my money the way GOD wants me to. Not the way I see those around me doing it. We see that everyone wants a nice car, nice house, nice computer, big screen tv. cable, internet packages on the phone, (because Lord forbid I have to wait to get home to use it) fancy clothes..perfectly decorated house. But if these are the goals I strive for with my money is that pleasing to God? I know it's not for me. I know that if I HAVE to have all these things I won't have money to reach out to those in need..Instead I will be in debt living day to day just to pay for things that really have no meaning at all. I want to share a link I read today. We are truly blessed. How was your tuesday?

School Update

Linking up with Homeschool Creations check them out!

Since this is my first year of homeschooling I am having to find a routine that works well for me. I have found that trying to sit down and teach my kindergarten student, while a busy 3 year old is running around, can be a lot of work! I'm trying to get her to sit down and do little workbooks. Or practice writing her ABC's. I have also found that this website Christian Pre-school Printables has lots of great christian themed activities. I love them!! Other things that can keep a little one busy are blocks, playdough, coloring books....And when I'm teaching Alex on the white board she loves to be included in coming up and getting a turn at answering a question. This is one thing I have found that is great to have with two little learners is a white board. They LOVE doing their work on it.

As for my little four year old (five on valentines day ). He is doing great with the Alpha Omega kindergarten. His favorite subject is math. And he does a great job at it. He is also enjoying learning about nouns and pronouns in phonics. Every now and then we will start something new that you can tell just clicks with him. Nouns and pronouns is the new one that "clicked". He loved it.

Well I have to run. But hope you enjoy checking out my blog!

As of late

Photobucket

Lately I have been staying inside and homeschooling.

Lately I have begun to try and read all the way through the bible this year! (doing good so far) :)

Lately I have been praying my one word for the year..deeper.

Lately I have been playing uno a lot in the evenings..(my kids are just learning how to play)

Lately I have been looking for new ways to save money.

Lately I have been trusting that God does have a plan for my life. And He will bring it to pass in his timing!

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. John 12:24

Join with me?

You all know that with the economy the way it is, work has been slow. Now it's seemed to stop all together. So I want to ask you guys to please join me in prayer. We really need some jobs and I know that I have in you guys a group of prayer warriors who can help make a difference! Your prayers are what will change things!

And just in case there are any readers in the west Virginia, virginia or Maryland area.. If you need ANY type of house repair, remodling. Or flooring. Please Send me a message.
Barrow Construction is a Christian owned business, owned by my dad. They do a great job. And my dad has even been featured on This Old House television series for his awesome job at putting on the old time standing seam metal roofs! They can do pretty much anything you need.

Thanks for your prayers!! And God Bless.

William

William from Lifesong for Orphans on Vimeo.

Six year-old William once asked his mother, “Why do other children walk on the bottoms of their feet? Why am I like this? What did you do to me?” When she told him that it was God who did it, not her, William said, “Then please tell God to fix me.”
William was born with clubfoot, affecting both of his feet.  If William had been born in America this common deformity would have been easily fixed when he was still a baby.  But in Zambia it’s a different story.  In Zambia, where the resources are few and the funds are even fewer, healing is only a distant dream.

Last February Lifesong Zambia coordinator, Dru Smith wrote about William in her newsletter.  When Wendy in Illinois heard his story she was prompted to act.  After a thorough investigation she discovered CURE Clubfoot International, which had a clinic in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia!  In April William was fitted for casts (first in a series of 3) and then had corrective surgery on his right foot in June and his left foot in September (the video was taken in September just before his second surgery).
God used His people to “fix” William.  Today William can walk!  Soon he will be strong enough to return to school, play with the other children, and be able to do many of the simple tasks we take for granted!

Through this journey the Lifesong staff has been able to help not only William, but his family as well.  William’s brother, Bright, and cousin, Gift, have both been enrolled at Lifesong school.  In addition his father, Victor, who was unemployeed now works in the Lifesong gardens!  We’re so thankful our God is the master at doing “abundantly and immeasurably more” than we even think to ask!

Want to be blessed?

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don’t go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans, and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
Deuteronomy 24:19

Want to be blessed ? Then help the least of these...it's as simple as that.

Homeschool update

As you can see He is quite proud of the card he received in the mail :) He is doing really well. Some day he gets bored in the middle. But we usually just take a little break and then get back to work. He is working on his phonics and is learning how to count by 5's right now. He is also working on telling time..addition..and using rulers. Homeschooling has had it's days :). But it is a lot of fun. And I'm so glad we made this decision. :)

My one word

I heard about this web site on the radio. It's called My One Word instead of trying to make all kinds of resolutions for 2011, I am picking one word to focus on for my life this year. One word to pray over myself and my family. I chose the word DEEPER.. I don't want to be a surface Christian. I want to go deeper. Into his Word, deeper commitment, deeper desire. I want to do things. To serve HIM. Not to just live and go to church and bring a dish to the picnics. But to have a truly deeper relationship with God. To hear his voice and move when He calls me. I'm also praying to fall deeper in love with my husband to have an even deeper relationship with him. . To go deeper with homeschooling. Not to just teach ABC's but to teach them LIFE. How to please God..to teach them things with more meaning. Not only am I going to pray this over my life but I'm praying this over my family. That my children and husband would always have a deeper passion ad desire for God..etc.. I'm excited about doing this instead of a resolution. I think it's going to do awesome things in mine and my family's life..Check it out and pick a word with me :)
